✧ "In Bani Salamah, it was revealed: 'And do not insult one another with nicknames' (Quran, Al-Hujurat 11). It was said, 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came and there was not a single person among us who did not have two or three names.' It was said, 'A man would be called and they would say, 'Muh, muh, muh,' indicating that he gets angry at this nickname.' So the verse was revealed: 'And do not insult one another with nicknames' (Quran, Al-Hujurat 11). 'The chain of narration is authentic and they did not exclude it' (Sahih)."
