✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ visited Sa'd b. Zurarah, who had a thorn (or a pustule). When he entered upon him, he said: 'What a bad dead person this is; the Jews say, "If only he had warded it off," but I possess nothing for him, nor do I possess anything for myself. And let him not blame Abu Umamah.' So he ordered that he be cauterized, and he died.

  • Abū ʿAbdullāh al-Ḥākim

  • Abū Ḥatim al-Rāzī

machine translationThis is an error that Maʿmar made. It is rather from al-Zuhrī from Abū Umāmah b. Sahl: that the Prophet ﷺ cauterized Asʿad. It is mursal.
