✧ A man came to the prayer while the Prophet ﷺ was leading us in prayer. When he reached the row, he said: "O Allah, give me the best of what You give Your righteous servants." When the Prophet ﷺ finished the prayer, he said: "Who spoke just now?" The man said: "I, O Messenger of Allah." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Then your horse will be hamstrung and you will be martyred in the path of Allah."

  • Dāraquṭnī

machine translationAl-Darāwardī narrates it from Suhayl b. Abī Ṣāliḥ, from Muḥammad b. Muslim b. ʿĀʾidh, from ʿĀmir b. Saʿd. There is disagreement about al-Darāwardī regarding it: Ibrāhīm b. Ḥamzah, Khālid b. Khidāsh, Muṣʿab al-Zubayrī and others narrated it from al-Darāwardī, from Suhayl, from Muḥammad b. Muslim b. ʿĀʾidh. But Ḍirār b. Ṣurad and al-Ḥimmānī contradicted them, and narrated it from al-Darāwardī, from Suhayl, and said: from Muslim b. ʿĀʾidh. The first statement is more correct (aṣaḥḥ).
