✧ From the Prophet ﷺ, he said: When Sulayman son of Dawud (peace and blessings be upon him) stood in Ramadan, he would see a tree growing before him. He said: What is your name? It would say: Such-and-such. Then he would say: For what thing are you? It would say: For such-and-such. So if it was for a medicine, it was written down, and if it was for planting, it was planted. While he was praying one day, behold, a tree grew before him, and he said to it: What is your name? It said: Al-Kharrub (carob). He said: For what thing are you? It said: For the ruin of the people of this house. So Sulayman (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Allah, conceal my death from the jinn until humans know that the jinn do not know the unseen. He said: So he carved it into a staff and leaned on it for a year while dead, and the jinn worked. Then termites ate it, and he fell. When he fell, it became clear to humans that the jinn do not know the unseen. He said: "So the jinn thanked the termites and would bring them water." And Ibn Abbas used to recite it thus.
