✧ I entered the mosque of Damascus, and there was a young man with bright front teeth, and the people were with him. When they differed about something, they referred it to him and took his opinion. I asked about him, and was told, "This is Mu'adh b. Jabal." The next day I went early and found that he had preceded me, and I found him praying. He said: I waited for him until he finished his prayer, then I came to him from before his face, greeted him, and said, "By Allah, I love you for the sake of Allah." He said, "For Allah?" I said, "For Allah?" He said, "For Allah?" I said, "For Allah." He said: He took hold of the fold of my cloak, pulled me to him, and said, "Rejoice, for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Allah ﷻ said: 'My love is incumbent for those who love one another for My sake, sit together for My sake, give generously to one another for My sake, and visit one another for My sake.'"
