أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ الْعَدْلُ وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمُفِيدُ قَالَا ثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ نَصْرٍ ثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ الْفَضْلُ بْنُ دُكَيْنٍ ثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الْغَسِيلِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ ح وَأَخْبَرَنِي الْحَسَنُ بْنُ حَلِيمٍ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ ثَنَا أَبُو الْمُوَجِّهِ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدَانُ أَنْبَأَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ أُسَيْدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ عُبَيْدٍ السَّاعِدِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا أُسَيْدٍ مَالِكَ بْنَ رَبِيعَةَ السَّاعِدِيَّ يَقُولُ بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذْ جَاءَهُ رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَنِي سَلَمَةَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَلْ بَقِيَ مِنْ بِرِّ أَبَوَيَّ شَيْءٌ أَبَرُّهُمَا بِهِ مِنْ بَعْدِ مَوْتِهِمَا؟ قَالَ «نَعَمُ الصَّلَاةُ عَلَيْهِمَا وَالِاسْتِغْفَارُ لَهُمَا وَإِنْفَاذُ عُهُودِهِمَا وَإِكْرَامُ صَدِيقِهِمَا وَصِلَةُ الرَّحِمِ الَّذِي لَا رَحِمَ لَكَ إِلَّا مِنْ قِبَلِهِمَا»

✧ He heard Abu Usayd Malik b. Rabi'a al-Sa'idi say: While we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, a man from Banu Salama came to him and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, is there any dutifulness left toward my parents that I may do for them after their death?' He said: 'Yes: praying for them, seeking forgiveness for them, fulfilling their covenants, honoring their friends, and maintaining the ties of kinship that you have only through them.'
