حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَمْرٍو عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ السَّمَّاكِ بِبَغْدَادَ ثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَنْصُورٍ الْحَارِثِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ جَوْنِ بْنِ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْمُحَبِّقِ
أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ دَعَا بِمَاءٍ عِنْدَ امْرَأَةٍ فَقَالَتْ مَا عِنْدِي مَاءٌ إِلَّا فِي قِرْبَةً لِي مَيْتَةً قَالَ «أَلَيْسَ قَدْ دَبَغْتِيهَا؟» قَالَتْ بَلَى قَالَ «فَإِنِّ ذَكَاتَهَا دِبَاغُهَا»

✧ The Prophet of Allah ﷺ, during the expedition of Tabuk, asked a woman for water. She said, "I have no water except in a waterskin of mine from an animal that died." He said, "Did you not tan it?" She said, "Yes." He said, "Its tanning is its purification."
