✧ We stayed for three days, and whoever went out to the mosque would take hold of two or three men according to his capacity and feed them. He said: I was among those who missed that for three days and their nights. Then I saw Abu Bakr at nightfall, so I came to him and asked him to recite to me from Surah Saba', and he reached his house. I hoped he would invite me to eat, but he recited to me until he reached the door of the house, then he stood at the door until he finished reciting the rest to me, then he entered and left me. Then I approached 'Umar and did the same with him, and he mentioned that he did the same as Abu Bakr had done. When morning came, I went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and told him. He said to the servant girl, "Is there anything?" She said, "Yes, a loaf and a piece of ghee." He called for it, then crumbled the bread with his hand, then took that piece of ghee and mixed it with the bread, then gathered it with his hand until he made it into a tharid. Then he said, "Go and invite ten men, you being the tenth of them." So I invited ten, I being the tenth. Then he said, "Sit down," and I placed the bowl. Then he said, "Eat in the name of Allah. Eat from its sides and do not eat from its top, for the blessing descends from its top." We ate until we were full, as if we had drawn lines in it with our fingers. Then he took from it and adjusted it and returned it, then said, "Invite ten for me." He mentioned that after that he invited ten twice, ten at a time, and said, "They left some remaining."
