✧ I asked permission to enter upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and entered upon him in an upper room. He was lying on a mat, and part of him was on the dust, and under his head was a pillow stuffed with palm fiber, and above his head was a tanned skin, and in a corner of the room was some acacia pods. I greeted him, then sat down and said: O Messenger of Allah, you are the Prophet of Allah, His chosen one, and His select from His creation, while Kisra and Caesar are on couches of gold and beds of silk and brocade. He said: "O Umar, those people have had their good things hastened for them, and it is about to be cut off. But we are a people whose good things have been delayed for us in our Hereafter."
