حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ بَالَوَيْهِ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْحَرْبِيُّ ثنا مُصْعَبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ قَالَ
«كَانَتْ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ اسْمُهَا رَمْلَةُ وَهِيَ أَوَّلُ ظَعِينَةٍ دَخَلَتِ الْمَدِينَةَ مُهَاجِرَةً وَكَانَتْ قَبْلَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ عِنْدَ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْأَسَدِ بْنِ هِلَالِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ مَخْزُومٍ وَهُوَ أَوَّلُ مَا هَاجَرَ إِلَى أَرْضِ الْحَبَشَةِ وَشَهِدَ بَدْرًا وَتُوُفِّيَ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَوَلَدَتْ لِأَبِي سَلَمَةَ سَلَمَةَ وَعُمَرَ وَدُرَّةَ وَزَيْنَبَ أُمُّهُمْ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجُ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَخَلَفَ عَلَيْهَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بَعْدَ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ وَقَدْ رَوَى ابْنُهَا عُمَرُ بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ»

✧ Umm Salamah's name was Ramlah, and she was the first woman to enter Madinah as an emigrant. Before the Prophet ﷺ, she was married to Abu Salamah 'Abd Allah b. 'Abd al-Asad b. Hilal b. 'Abd Allah b. 'Umar b. Makhzum. He was among the first to emigrate to Abyssinia, and he participated in Badr. He died during the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. She bore Abu Salamah children: Salamah, 'Umar, Durrah, and Zaynab. Their mother was Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ married her after Abu Salamah. Her son 'Umar b. Abi Salamah narrated from the Prophet ﷺ.
