✧ 'A'isha said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ died in my house, on my day, while he was between my chest and my neck. 'Abd al-Rahman b. Abi Bakr entered upon him with a fresh siwak, and he looked at it until I thought he needed it. I took it, chewed it, broke it, and softened it, then gave it to him. He used it as a tooth-stick in the best manner I ever saw him use one. Then he went to hand it back to me, but his hand fell. I began to supplicate for him with a supplication that Jibril ﷺ used to make for him, and he used to make it when he was ill, but he did not make it during that illness. He raised his gaze to the sky and said, 'The Highest Companion,' and his soul departed ﷺ. Praise be to Allah who joined my saliva with his saliva on the last day of this world.
