حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ صَالِحِ بْنِ هَانِئٍ ثَنَا السَّرِيُّ بْنُ خُزَيْمَةَ ثَنَا أَبُو غَسَّانَ ثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ ثَنَا عَاصِمُ الْأَحْوَلُ عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيِّ ثَنَا مُجَاشِعُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ
أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِأَخِي مُجَالِدٍ بَعْدَ الْفَتْحِ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ جِئْتُكَ بِأَخِي مُجَالِدٍ لِتُبَايِعَهُ عَلَى الْهِجْرَةِ فَقَالَ «ذَهَبَ أَهْلُ الْهِجْرَةِ بِمَا فِيهَا» فَقُلْتُ فَعَلَى أَيِّ شَيْءٍ تُبَايِعُهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ «أُبَايِعُهُ عَلَى الْإِسْلَامِ وَالْإِيمَانِ وَالْجِهَادِ» سكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص

✧ I brought my brother Mujalid to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ after the conquest and said: O Messenger of Allah, I have brought you my brother Mujalid so that you may accept his pledge for emigration. He said: "The people of emigration have taken what it entails." I said: Then upon what do you accept his pledge, O Messenger of Allah? He said: "I accept his pledge upon Islam, faith, and jihad." Al-Dhahabi remained silent about it in the Talkhis.
