machine translationAl-Ḥākim, may God Most High have mercy on him, said: "At the beginning of the biography I put forward the hadith of Yazīd b. Hārūn, with his chain of transmission from Anas, that Ibn ʿUmar witnessed Badr. This chain is stronger than that one. The two Shaykhs agreed upon the hadith of ʿUbaydullāh b. ʿUmar, from Nāfiʿ, from Ibn ʿUmar, that he was presented to the Messenger of God ﷺ when he was fourteen years old, and he did not permit him; and he was presented to him at the Trench, and he permitted him, and it was the first battle he witnessed. And God knows best."
