حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ صَالِحِ بْنِ هَانِئٍ ثَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ الْحِزَامِيُّ قَالَ قَالَ ابْنُ وَاقِدٍ ثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ عُقْبَةَ قَالَ
سَمِعْتُ شُعْبَةَ مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ «مَاتَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ سَنَةَ ثَمَانٍ وَسِتِّينَ بِالطَّائِفِ وَهُوَ ابْنُ خَمْسٍ وَسَبْعِينَ وَكَانَ يُصَفِّرُ لِحْيَتَهُ»

✧ I heard Shu'bah, the mawla of Ibn 'Abbas, say: "Ibn 'Abbas died in the year sixty-eight in al-Ta'if, and he was seventy-five years old. He used to dye his beard yellow."
