حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْبَكْرِيُّ ثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ حَدَّثَنِي عَمِّي مُوسَى بْنُ طَلْحَةَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو وَاقِدٍ اللَّيْثِيُّ قَالَ

كُنْتُ جَالِسًا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ تَمَسُّ رُكْبَتِي رُكْبَتْهِ فَأَتَاهُ آتٍ فَالْتَقَمَ أُذُنَهُ فَتَغَيَّرَ وَجْهُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَثَارَ الدَّمُ إِلَى أَسَارِيرِهِ ﷺ ثُمَّ قَالَ «هَذَا رَسُولُ عَامِرِ بْنِ الطُّفَيْلِ يَتَهَدَّدُنِي وَيَتَهَّدَدُ مَنْ يَأْوِي إِلَيَّ وَقَدْ كَفَانِيهِ اللَّهُ ﷻ بِوَلَدِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ وَبَنِي قَيْلَةَ» يَعْنِي الْأَنْصَارَ

✧ I was sitting with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, my knee touching his knee, when a man came to him and clung to his ear. The face of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ changed and the blood rushed to the lines of his face ﷺ. Then he said: "This is the messenger of 'Amir b. al-Tufayl, threatening me and threatening those who seek refuge with me. But Allah ﷻ has sufficed me against him through the children of Isma'il and Banu Qayla," meaning the Ansar.
