فَحَدَّثَنِي أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ الْجَهْمِ ثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ قَالَ أَبُو وَاقِدٍ الْحَارِثُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ وَأَخْبَرَنِي إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ ثَنَا جَدِّي قَالَ
سَمِعْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ كَثِيرِ بْنِ عُفَيْرٍ يَقُولُ «أَبُو وَاقِدٍ اللَّيْثِيُّ الْحَارِثُ بْنُ عَوْفِ بْنِ أُسَيْدِ بْنِ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَوْثَرَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ مَنَاةَ بْنِ يَشْجُعَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ وَكَانَ قَدِيمَ الْإِسْلَامِ وَكَانَ مَعَهُ لِوَاءُ بَنِي لَيْثٍ وَضَمْرَةَ وَسَعْدِ بْنِ بَكْرٍ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ وَبَقِيَ أَبُو وَاقِدٍ بَعْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ زَمَانًا ثُمَّ خَرَجَ إِلَى مَكَّةَ فَجَاوَرَ بِهَا سَنَةً وَمَاتَ بِهَا»

✧ I heard Sa'id b. Kathir b. 'Ufayr say: "Abu Waqid al-Laythi, al-Harith b. 'Awf b. Usayd b. Jabir b. 'Awthara b. 'Abd Manat b. Yashju' b. 'Amir, was an early Muslim. He carried the banner of Banu Layth, Damra, and Sa'd b. Bakr on the day of the conquest. Abu Waqid remained after the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for a long time, then he went to Makkah and stayed there for a year as a neighbor, and he died there."
