حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حَمْشَاذَ الْعَدْلُ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ غَالِبٍ ثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ ثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ قَالَ
لَمَّا كَانَ زَمَنُ الْحَرَّةِ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ فَقَالَ هَذَا ابْنُ حَنْظَلَةَ يُبَايِعُ النَّاسَ عَلَى الْمَوْتِ فَقَالَ «لَا أُبَايِعُ عَلَى هَذَا أَحَدًا بَعْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ»

✧ When the time of al-Harrah came, a man went to Abdullah b. Zayd and said: 'This is Ibn Hanzalah pledging allegiance to the people upon death.' He said: 'I will not pledge allegiance to anyone upon this after the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.'
