حَدَّثَنَا الشَّيْخُ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ أَنْبَأَ يُوسُفُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الْقَاضِي ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ ثَنَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ الْأَسْوَدِ ثَنَا الضَّحَّاكُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ الْمُعَطَّلِ السُّلَمِيِّ
أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ إِنِّي سَائِلُكَ عَنْ أَمْرٍ أَنْتَ بِهِ عَالِمٌ وَأَنَا بِهِ جَاهِلٌ قَالَ «مَا هُوَ؟» قَالَ هَلْ مِنْ سَاعَاتِ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ مِنْ سَاعَةٍ تُكْرَهُ فِيهَا الصَّلَاةُ؟ قَالَ «فَإِذَا صَلَّيْتَ الصُّبْحَ فَدَعِ الصَّلَاةَ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ فَإِنَّهَا تَطْلُعُ لِقَرْنَيْ شَيْطَانٍ ثُمَّ صَلِّ فَالصَّلَاةُ مُتَقَبَّلَةٌ حَتَّى تَسْتَوِيَ الشَّمْسُ عَلَى رَأْسِكَ كَالرُّمْحِ فَإِذَا كَانَتْ عَلَى رَأْسِكَ كَالرُّمْحِ فَدَعِ الصَّلَاةَ فَإِنَّهَا السَّاعَةُ الَّتِي تُسْجَرُ فِيهَا جَهَنَّمُ وَتُفْتَحُ فِيهَا أَبْوَابُهَا حَتَّى تَزِيغَ الشَّمْسُ فَإِذَا زَاغَتْ فَالصَّلَاةُ مَحْضُورَةٌ مُتَقَبَّلَةٌ حَتَّى تُصَلِّيَ الْعَصْرَ ثُمَّ دَعِ الصَّلَاةَ حَتَّى تَغْرُبَ الشَّمْسُ» صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ صحيح

✧ He asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, saying: "O Prophet of Allah, I am asking you about a matter which you know and I do not." He said: "What is it?" He said: "Are there any hours of the night and day in which prayer is disliked?" He said: "When you have prayed the morning prayer, then refrain from praying until the sun rises, for it rises between the two horns of a devil. Then pray, for prayer is attended and accepted until the sun is directly above your head like a spear. When it is above your head like a spear, then refrain from praying, for that is the hour in which Hell is stoked and its gates are opened, until the sun declines. When it declines, prayer is attended and accepted until you pray the afternoon prayer. Then refrain from praying until the sun sets." The chain of transmission is authentic, but they did not record it. Authentic.
