حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ بَالَوَيْهِ ثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْحَرْبِيُّ ثَنَا مُصْعَبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ قَالَ
«عَاشَ حَسَّانُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ سِتِّينَ سَنَةً وَكُنْيَتُهُ أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ وَفِي الْإِسْلَامِ سِتِّينَ سَنَةً وَهُوَ حَسَّانُ بْنُ ثَابِتِ بْنِ الْمُنْذِرِ بْنِ حَرَامِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ زَيْدِ مَنَاةَ بْنِ عَدِيِّ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ النَّجَّارِ شَاعِرُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَأُمُّ حَسَّانَ الْفُرَيْعَةُ بِنْتُ خَالِدِ بْنِ خُنَيْسِ بْنِ لَوْذَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ وَدٍّ قِيلَ إِنَّهُ تُوُفِّيَ قَبْلَ الْأَرْبَعِينَ وَقِيلَ تُوُفِّيَ سَنَةَ خَمْسٍ وَخَمْسِينَ»

✧ Hassan b. Thabit lived sixty years in the Jahiliyyah—his kunyah was Abu al-Walid—and sixty years in Islam. He was Hassan b. Thabit b. al-Mundhir b. Haram b. 'Amr b. Zayd Manat b. 'Adi b. 'Amr b. Malik b. al-Najjar, the poet of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Hassan's mother was al-Furay'ah bt. Khalid b. Khunays b. Lawdhan b. 'Abd Wadd. It is said that he died before the age of forty, and it is said he died in the year fifty-five.
