حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ بَالَوَيْهِ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ الْحَرْبِيُّ ثنا مُصْعَبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ قَالَ
حُجْرُ بْنُ عَدِيٍّ الْكِنْدِيُّ يُكَنَّى أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ كَانَ قَدْ وَفَدَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَشَهِدَ الْقَادِسِيَّةَ وَشَهِدَ الْجَمَلَ وَصِفِّينَ مَعَ عَلِيٍّ قَتَلَهُ مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ أَبَى سُفْيَانَ بِمَرْجِ عَذْرَاءَ وَكَانَ لَهُ ابْنَانِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ قَتَلَهُمَا مُصْعَبُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ صَبْرًا وَقُتِلَ حُجْرٌ سَنَةَ ثَلَاثٍ وَخَمْسِينَ سكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص

✧ Hujr b. 'Adi al-Kindi, whose kunya was Abu 'Abd al-Rahman, had come as a delegate to the Prophet ﷺ and was present at al-Qadisiyya, and was present at the Camel and Siffin with 'Ali. Mu'awiya b. Abi Sufyan killed him at Marj 'Adhra'. He had two sons, 'Abd Allah and 'Abd al-Rahman; Mus'ab b. al-Zubayr killed them both in retaliation, and Hujr was killed in the year 53.
