حَدَّثَنَا الشَّيْخُ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْإِمَامُ أَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْأَسْفَاطِيُّ ثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أُوَيْسٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَخِي عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ بِلَالٍ عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ حُنَيْنٍ

أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَبَّاسٍ وَالْمِسْوَرَ بْنَ مَخْرَمَةَ اخْتَلَفَا فِي الْمُحْرِمِ يَغْسِلُ رَأْسَهُ بِالْمَاءِ مِنْ غَيْرِ جَنَابَةٍ فَأَرْسَلَانِي إِلَى أَبِي أَيُّوبَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ وَهُوَ فِي بَعْضِ مِيَاهِ مَكَّةَ أَسْأَلُهُ عَنْ ذَلِكَ»

✧ 'Abd Allah b. 'Abbas and al-Miswar b. Makhrama differed about a person in ihram washing his head with water without being in a state of major ritual impurity. They sent me to Abu Ayyub al-Ansari, who was at some of the waters of Makkah, to ask him about that.

  • فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ بِطُولِهِ هَذِهِ فَضِيلَةُ لِأَبِي أَيُّوبَ أَنَّ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ وَالْمِسْوَرَ بْنَ مَخْرَمَةَ رَجَعَا إِلَيْهِ فِي السُّؤَالِ وَأَظُنُّ أَنَّ الشَّيْخَيْنِ قَدْ خَرَّجَاهُ أَوْ أَحَدُهُمَا فِي كِتَابِ الطَّهَارَةِ صحيح

    machine translationSo he mentioned the hadith in full. This is a merit of Abū Ayyūb, in that Ibn ʿAbbās and al-Miswar b. Makhramah returned to him with their question. I think that the two Shaykhs, or one of them, have narrated it in the Book of Purification. Authentic (ṣaḥīḥ).
