✧ "I went intentionally to meet the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to convert (to Islam). I encountered Khalid ibn Al-Walid before the conquest (of Mecca), while he was approaching from Mecca. I asked, 'Where are you heading, O Abu Sulayman?' He replied, 'By Allah, the landmark (Meesam) has been established, and indeed, the man is a Prophet. I will go and, by Allah, I will convert.' I asked him, 'Until when?' He said, 'And I, by Allah, have come only to convert.' So we proceeded to meet the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Khalid ibn Al-Walid took the lead and accepted Islam and pledged his allegiance. Then I approached and pledged allegiance to him, and then I left."
