حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ بَالَوَيْهِ ثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ شَبِيبٍ الْمَعْمَرِيُّ ثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ حَمَّادِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنِي حُصَيْنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ قَالَ

شَهِدْتُ الْقَادِسِيَّةَ فَانْطَلَقَ الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ شُعْبَةَ فَلَمَّا أَتَى ابْنَ رُسْتُمَ عَلَى السَّرِيرِ وَثَبَ فَجَلَسَ مَعَهُ عَلَى سَرِيرِهِ فَتَحَيَّرُوا فَقَالَ لَهُمُ الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ شُعْبَةُ «مَا الَّذِي تَفْزَعُونَ مِنْ هَذَا؟ أَنَا أَنَا الْآنَ أَقُومُ فَأَرْجِعُ إِلَى مَا كُنْتُ عَلَيْهِ وَيَرْجِعُ صَاحِبُكُمْ إِلَى مَا كَانَ عَلَيْهِ» قَالُوا

✧ I witnessed al-Qadisiyyah. Al-Mughirah b. Shu'bah went, and when he came to Ibn Rustam, who was on a throne, he leapt up and sat with him on his throne. They were bewildered. Al-Mughirah b. Shu'bah said to them, "What are you alarmed about from this? I will now get up and return to what I was, and your companion will return to what he was." They said.

  • أَخْبَرَنَا مَا جَاءَ بِكُمْ؟ فَقَالَ الْمُغِيرَةُ «كُنَّا ضُلَّالًا فَبَعَثَ اللَّهُ فِينَا نَبِيًّا فَهَدَانَا إِلَى دِينِهِ وَرَزَقَنَا فَكَانَ فِيمَا رَزَقَنَا حَبَّةٌ يَكُونُ فِي بِلَادِكُمْ هَذَا فَلَمَّا أَكَلْنَا مِنْهَا وَأَطْعَمْنَاهَا أَهْلَنَا» قَالُوا لَا صَبْرَ لَنَا حَتَّى تُنْزِلُونَا هَذِهِ الْبِلَادَ قَالُوا إِذًا نَقْتُلُكُمْ قَالُوا إِنَّ قَتَلْتُمُونَا دَخَلْنَا الْجَنَّةَ وَإِنْ قَتَلْنَاكُمْ دَخَلْتُمُ النَّارَحذفه الذهبي من التلخيص لضعفه
