حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ بَالَوَيْهِ ثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْحَرْبِيُّ ثَنَا مُصْعَبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ قَالَ
«وَمِنْ بَنِي عَبْدِ الدَّارِ بْنِ قُصَيٍّ فَذَكَرَ هَذَا النَّسَبَ وَأُمُّهُ سَلَّامَةُ بِنْتُ سَعِيدٍ مِنْ بَنِي عَمْرِو بْنِ عَوْفٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ قُبَاءَ وَكَانَ إِسْلَامُهُ قَبْلَ الْفَتْحِ مَعَ إِسْلَامِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ وَخَالِدِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ وَقَدِمَ الْمَدِينَةَ فِي صَفَرٍ سَنَةَ ثَمَانٍ مِنَ الْهِجْرَةِ وَمَاتَ بِمَكَّةَ سَنَةَ اثْنَتَيْنِ وَأَرْبَعِينَ حِينَ قَامَ مُعَاوِيَةُ»
Translation

✧ "And from Banu Abd al-Dar b. Qusayy" and he mentioned this lineage. "His mother was Salamah bt. Sa'id from Banu Amr b. Awf from the people of Quba'. His Islam was before the conquest, along with the Islam of Amr b. al-As and Khalid b. al-Walid. He came to Madinah in Safar of the year eight of the Hijrah, and he died in Makkah in the year forty-two when Mu'awiyah assumed power."
