حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الثَّقَفِيُّ ثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثَنَا شَبَابُ بْنُ خَيَّاطٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ صَالِحِ بْنِ خَوَّاتِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ قَالَ
أَبِي خَوَّاتُ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ مَرِضْتُ فَعَادَنِي النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَلَمَّا بَرَأْتُ قَالَ «صَحَّ جِسْمُكَ يَا خَوَّاتُ فلِلَّهِ تَعَالَى بِمَا وَعَدْتَهُ» قُلْتُ وَمَا وَعُدْتُ اللَّهَ شَيْئًا قَالَ «إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ مِنْ مَرِيضٍ يَمْرَضُ إِلَّا نَذَرَ شَيْئًا أَوْ نَوَى فَفِ لِلَّهِ ﷻ بِمَا وَعَدْتَهُ» سكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص

✧ My father Khawwat b. Jubayr: I fell ill and the Prophet ﷺ visited me. When I recovered he said, "Your body is healthy, O Khawwat. So fulfill for Allah, Exalted be He, what you promised Him." I said, "I did not promise Allah anything." He said, "There is no sick person who falls ill but that he vows something or intends something. So fulfill for Allah ﷻ what you promised Him." Al-Dhahabi remained silent about it in the Talkhis.
