✧ I saw Abu 'Amra al-Ansari on the day of Siffin; he had participated in Badr, the 'Aqaba pledge, and Uhud. He was fasting and writhing from thirst, and he said to a servant of his: "Woe to you, sprinkle water on me," and the servant sprinkled him. Then he shot an arrow, drawing it weakly until he shot three arrows, then he said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Whoever shoots an arrow in the path of Allah, whether it reaches or falls short, that arrow will be a light for him on the Day of Resurrection.'" Then he was killed before sunset.
