✧ There was between me and 'Ammar b. Yasir some words, so I was harsh to him. 'Ammar went off to complain about me to the Prophet ﷺ. Khalid came while he was complaining about him, and he kept being harsh to him and did not increase except in harshness, while the Prophet ﷺ remained silent. 'Ammar wept and said, "O Messenger of Allah, do you not see him?" The Prophet ﷺ raised his head and said: "Whoever is hostile to 'Ammar, Allah is hostile to him; and whoever hates 'Ammar, Allah hates him." Khalid said: "So I went out, and there was nothing more beloved to me than the pleasure of 'Ammar. I met him and he was pleased." This is the hadith of al-'Awwam b. al-Hawshab.
