✧ I heard Khalid b. al-Walid say: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me on a military expedition, and with me was 'Ammar b. Yasir. We came upon some people, among them a household who had mentioned Islam. 'Ammar said, "These people have declared the oneness of God," but I paid no attention to his words. Then they suffered what the people suffered. 'Ammar began to warn me that if I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he would inform him. So he went to the Prophet ﷺ and informed him. When he saw that the Prophet did not support him, he turned away with his eyes flowing with tears. He said: Then he called me and said: "O Khalid, do not revile 'Ammar, for whoever reviles 'Ammar, Allah reviles him; whoever hates 'Ammar, Allah hates him; and whoever belittles 'Ammar, Allah belittles him." Khalid said: "Seek forgiveness for me, O Messenger of Allah. By Allah, nothing prevented me from answering him except that I belittled him." Khalid said: "There is nothing I fear more than my belittling of 'Ammar b. Yasir that day." Its chain is authentic, but they did not include it. This is how it was narrated by Mas'ud b. Sa'd al-Ju'fi and Muhammad b. Fudayl b. Ghazwan from al-Hasan b. 'Ubayd Allah al-Nakha'i. As for the hadith of Mas'ud b. Sa'd...
