حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ حَدَّثَنَا رَبِيعُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ عِيسَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ

دَخَلْتُ عَلَى أُمِّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَعَائِشَةُ بِنْتُ طَلْحَةَ وَهِيَ تَقُولُ لِأُمِّهَا أَسْمَاءَ أَنَا خَيْرٌ مِنْكِ وَأَبِي خَيْرٌ مِنْ أَبِيكِ قَالَ فَجَعَلَتْ أُمُّهَا تَشْتِمُهَا وَتَقُولُ أَنْتِ خَيْرٌ مِنِّي فَقَالَتْ أُمُّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَائِشَةُ أَلَا أَقْضِي بَيْنَكُمَا؟ قَالَتْ بَلَى قَالَتْ فَإِنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ دَخَلَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «يَا أَبَا بَكْرٍ أَنْتَ عَتِيقُ اللَّهِ مِنَ النَّارِ» قَالَتْ فَمِنْ يَوْمَئِذٍ سُمَيَّ عَتِيقًا وَلَمْ يَكُنْ سُمَيَّ قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ عَتِيقًا قَالَتْ ثُمَّ دَخَلَ طَلْحَةُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ «أَنْتَ يَا طَلْحَةُ مِمَّنْ قَضَى نَحْبَهُ»

✧ I entered upon the Mother of the Believers, while Aisha bt. Talha was saying to her mother Asma, "I am better than you, and my father is better than your father." Her mother began to revile her and say, "You are better than me?" The Mother of the Believers Aisha said, "Shall I judge between you two?" She said, "Yes." She said, "Abu Bakr entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he said, 'O Abu Bakr, you are the freed one of Allah from the Fire.'" She said, "From that day he was named Atiq, and he had not been named Atiq before that." She said, "Then Talha b. Ubaidullah entered, and he said, 'You, O Talha, are among those who have fulfilled their vow.'"
