حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ ثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ
«أَبُو طَلْحَةَ زَيْدُ بْنُ سَهْلِ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ حَرَامِ بْنِ زَيْدِ مَنَاةَ بْنِ عَدِيِّ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ النَّجَّارِ شَهِدَ بَدْرًا وَلَهُ عَقِبٌ وَكَانَ مِنَ الرُّمَاةِ الْمَذْكُورِينَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَقِيلَ إِنَّهُ كَانَ رَجُلًا أَدَمَ مَرْبُوعًا وَمَاتَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ سَنَةَ أَرْبَعٍ وَثَلَاثِينَ وَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَفَّانَ وَهُوَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ابْنُ سَبْعِينَ سَنَةً»

✧ "Abu Talhah Zayd b. Sahl b. al-Aswad b. Haram b. Zayd Manat b. Adi b. Malik b. al-Najjar witnessed Badr and has descendants. He was among the notable archers of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. It is said that he was a brown-skinned man of medium height. He died in Madinah in the year thirty-four, and Uthman b. Affan prayed over him; he was then seventy years old."
