فَحَدَّثَنَا بِصِحَّةِ ذَلِكَ أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثَنَا أَبُو الزِّنْبَاعِ رَوْحُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ الْمِصْرِيُّ ثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عُفَيْرٍ قَالَ
«كُنْتُ صَاحِبًا لِلْمِقْدَادِ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَأَصَابَ فِيهِمْ دَمًا فَهَرَبَ إِلَى كِنْدَةَ فَحَالَفَهُمْ ثُمَّ أَصَابَ مِنْهُمْ دَمًا فَهَرَبَ إِلَى مَكَّةَ فَحَالَفَ الْأَسْوَدَ بْنَ عَبْدِ يَغُوثَ فَلِذَلِكَ نُسِبَ إِلَيْهِ»

✧ I was a companion of al-Miqdad b. al-Aswad in the pre-Islamic era. He had shed blood among them and fled to Kinda, and he allied himself with them. Then he shed blood among them and fled to Makkah, and he allied himself with al-Aswad b. Abd Yaghuth, and for that reason he was attributed to him.
