✧ I said, "O Messenger of Allah, when Quraysh meet each other, they meet with good cheer, but when they meet us, they meet with faces we do not recognize." He said, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ became intensely angry and said, "By the One in whose hand is the soul of Muḥammad, faith will not enter the heart of a man until he loves you for Allah and His Messenger." I have mentioned in the virtues of al-Ḥasan and al-Ḥusayn a portion of the excellences of the family of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and clarified the defects of this hadith by mentioning al-Muṭṭalib b. Rabīʿah and those who dropped him from the chain, so that suffices from repeating it in this place.
