✧ I heard my grandfather Khurayim b. Aws b. Harithah b. Lam say: I emigrated to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ upon his return from Tabuk and became Muslim. I heard al-Abbas b. Abd al-Muttalib say: O Messenger of Allah, I wish to praise you. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Speak, may Allah not cause your mouth to chatter.' Al-Abbas then recited: [al-bahr al-munsarih] 'Before it, you were good in the shadows and in the repository where leaves are stitched. Then you descended to the lands; you are not a human, nor a lump of flesh, nor a clot. Rather, a drop that rides the ship, and Nasr and his people were bridled with drowning. You are transferred from loins to wombs; when one world passes, another generation appears. Until your house, the Guardian, encompassed from Khindif the heights beneath which are the girdles. And when you were born, the earth shone and the horizons lit up with your light. So we, in that radiance and in the light and the paths of right guidance, traverse.'
