وَأَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو أَحْمَدَ التَّمِيمِيُّ ثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ ثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ زُرَارَةَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا زِيَادُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ حَدَّثَنِي حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو رَافِعٍ
«كُنْتُ غُلَامًا لِلْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ وَكَانَ الْإِسْلَامُ دَخَلْنَا أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ فَأَسْلَمَ الْعَبَّاسُ وَأَسْلَمَتْ أُمُّ الْفَضْلِ وَأَسْلَمَتْ وَكَانَ الْعَبَّاسُ يَهَابُ قَوْمَهُ وَيَكْرَهُ خِلَافَهُمْ وَكَانَ يَكْتُمُ إِسْلَامَهُ»

✧ 'I was a servant of al-Abbas b. Abd al-Muttalib, and Islam had entered us, the people of the house. Al-Abbas embraced Islam, Umm al-Fadl embraced Islam, and I embraced Islam. Al-Abbas used to fear his people and disliked opposing them, and he concealed his Islam.'
