✧ "There was no one more hostile to the Arabs than Hurmuz. When we finished with Musaylimah and his companions, we headed towards the direction of Basra, and Hurmuz met us at Kazimah with a great army. Khalid went out to him and called for single combat, and Hurmuz went out to him, and Khalid b. al-Walid killed him. He wrote about that to Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, who granted him his spoils. His cap reached a value of one hundred thousand dirhams, for the Persians, when a man was noble, would value his cap at one hundred thousand dirhams."
