فَحَدَّثَنَا الشَّيْخُ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ أَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ قَالَ
خَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ مَخْزُومٍ وَأُمُّهُ لُبَابَةُ بِنْتُ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ حَزْنٍ الْهِلَالِيَّةُ أُخْتُ مَيْمُونَةَ بِنْتِ الْحَارِثِ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَكَانَ خَالِدٌ يُكَنَّى أَبَا سُلَيْمَانَ اسْتَعْمَلَهُ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ عَلَى الرُّهَا وَحُرَّانَ وَالرَّبَّةَ وآمَدَ فَمَكَثَ سَنَةً وَاسْتَعْفَى فَأَعْفَاهُ فَقَدِمَ الْمَدِينَةَ فَأَقَامَ بِهَا فِي مَنْزِلِهِ حَتَّى مَاتَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ سَنَةَ اثْنَتَيْنِ وَعِشْرِينَ
Translation

✧ Khalid b. al-Walid b. al-Mughira b. Abd Allah b. Umar b. Makhzum, and his mother was Lubaba bt. al-Harith b. Hazn al-Hilaliyya, the sister of Maymuna bt. al-Harith, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ. Khalid was given the kunya Abu Sulayman. Umar b. al-Khattab appointed him over al-Ruha, Harran, al-Rabba, and Amid, and he remained for a year, then asked to be excused, so he excused him. He then came to Madinah and stayed there in his house until he died in Madinah in the year twenty-two.
