حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ الْجَهْمِ ثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ قَالَ
«وَأَنَسُ بْنُ مَرْثَدِ بْنِ أَبِي مَرْثَدٍ الْغَنَوِيُّ يُكَنَّى أَبَا يَزِيدَ حَلِيفُ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ وَكَانَ مَوْتُهُ سَنَةَ عِشْرِينَ فِي شَهْرِ رَبِيعٍ الْأَوَّلِ وَكَانَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ أَبِيهِ فِي السِّنِّ إِحْدَى وَعِشْرِينَ سَنَةً قَدْ ذَكَرْتُ فِيمَا تَقَدَّمَ أَبَا مَرْثَدٍ الْغَنَوِيَّ وَبَعْدَهُ أَبِنْهُ مَرْثَدَ وَهَذَا الْحَفِيدُ وَكُلُّهُمْ مِنَ الصَّحَابَةِ حذفه الذهبي من التلخيص لضعفه

✧ "And Anas ibn Marthad ibn Abi Marthad al-Ghanawi, also known as Abu Yazid, was a companion of Hamza ibn Abd al-Muttalib. He passed away in the year twenty, in the month of Rabi al-Awwal. He had a twenty-one-year age difference with his father, as I mentioned before when talking about Abu Marthad al-Ghanawi. After him, his son Marthad came, and this is his grandson. All of them are from the companions, as Al-Dhahabi mentioned in his summary of their weakness."
