✧ That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out one day from his house at noon and saw Abu Bakr sitting in the mosque. He said: 'What brought you out at this hour, O Abu Bakr?' He replied: 'What brought you out brought me out, O Messenger of Allah.' Then Umar came, and he said: 'What brought you out, O Ibn al-Khattab?' He said: 'What brought you two out, O Messenger of Allah.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sat down talking with them, then said: 'Do you two have strength to go to these palm trees'—and he gestured with his hand toward the houses of the Ansar—'to get food, drink, and shade, if Allah wills?' We said: 'Yes.' So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ set out, and they set out with him. And he mentioned the hadith. Al-Dhahabi remained silent about it in the Talkhis.
