✧ The merits of Tha'laba bin Su'ayr al-'Adawi

حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ صَالِحِ بْنِ هَانِئٍ ثنا السَّرِيُّ بْنُ خُزَيْمَةَ ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ثنا هَمَّامٌ عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ وَائِلِ بْنِ دَاوُدَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ حَدَّثَهُمْ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ صُعَيْرٍ الْعُذْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَامَ خَطِيبًا وَأَمَرَ بِصَدَقَةِ الْفِطْرِ صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ عَنْ كُلِّ وَاحِدٍ أَوْ عَنْ كُلِّ رَأْسٍ مِنَ الصَّغِيرِ وَالْكَبِيرِ صَاعٌ مِنْ تَمْرٍ أَوْ مُدَّيْنِ مِنْ قَمْحٍ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood as a preacher and commanded the charity of breaking the fast, a sa' of dates or a sa' of barley for every individual, or for every head, young and old, a sa' of dates or two mudds of wheat.
