✧ A son of his died, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wrote to him consoling him: “In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. From Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah, to Mu'adh b. Jabal. Peace be upon you. I praise Allah to you, besides whom there is no god. To proceed: May Allah magnify your reward, inspire you with patience, and grant us and you gratitude. For our souls, our wealth, our families, and our children are among the pleasant gifts of Allah, the Exalted, and His entrusted loans. He let you enjoy him in happiness and joy, and He took him from you with a great reward of prayer, mercy, and guidance, if you seek recompense for him. So be patient, and do not let your anxiety nullify your reward, lest you regret. Know that anxiety does not bring back anything, nor does it ward off grief, and what is to come will be as if it had already been. And peace.” This is strange but good, except that Mujashi' b. Amr is not among the criteria of this book. This is from the fabrications of Mujashi' b. Amr.
