Virtues of Sa'd b. Ubadah al-Khazraji

حَدَّثَنَا مُكْرَمُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى الْمَدَايِنِيُّ ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَادَةَ أَنَّ أُمَّهُ تُوُفِّيَتْ وَعَلَيْهَا صَوْمٌ قَالَ

فَسَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ «فَأَمَرَنِي أَنْ أَقْضِيَهُ عَنْهَا» قَدِ اتَّفَقَ الشَّيْخَانِ عَلَى إِخْرَاجِ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ أَنَّ أُمَّ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَادَةَ تُوُفِّيَتْ وَلَمْ يَصِلَاهُ عَنْهُ وَهَذَا صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِهِمَا المدايني ضعيف

✧ So I asked the Prophet ﷺ, and he commanded me to repay it on her behalf. The two Shaykhs agreed on transmitting this hadith that the mother of Sa'd b. Ubadah died, but they did not connect it from him. This is authentic according to their conditions. Al-Madayini is weak.
