أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ الْغِفَارِيُّ بِمَرْوَ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ثنا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى الْحَافِظُ
سَمِعْتُ أَحْمَدَ بْنَ سَيَّارٍ يَقُولُ «خَالِدُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْعَاصِ وُلِدَ لِأَبِيهِ سَعِيدٍ عِشْرُونَ ابْنَا وَعِشْرُونَ ابْنَةً فَأَمَّا الْخَالدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ فَإِنَّهُ قُتِلَ يَوْمَ مَرْجِ الصُّفْرِ فِي الْمُحَرَّمِ سَنَةَ أَرْبَعَ عَشْرَةَ فِي خِلَافَةِ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ »

✧ I heard Ahmad ibn Sayyar say: 'Khalid ibn Sa'id ibn al-'As was born to his father Sa'id, who had twenty sons and twenty daughters. As for Khalid ibn Sa'id, he was killed on the day of Marj al-Suffar in Muharram of the year fourteen in the caliphate of Umar ibn al-Khattab ؓ.'
