حَدَّثَنَا بِذَلِكَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنُ بَطَّةَ بِإِسْنَادِهِ ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ الْجَهْمِ ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ قَالَ فَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ عَنْ شُيُوخِهِ قَالَ «تُوُفِّيَ نَوْفَلُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ بَعْدَ
أَنِ اسْتُخْلِفَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ بِسَنَةٍ وَثَلَاثَةِ أَشْهُرٍ فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ عُمَرُ ثُمَّ مَشَى مَعَهُ إِلَى الْبَقِيعِ حَتَّى دُفِنَ هُنَالِكَ»
