✧ virtues of Abu Quhafa, the father of Abu Bakr.

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الثَّقَفِيُّ ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا خَلِيفَةُ بْنُ خَيَّاطٍ قَالَ

«وَأَمَّا أَبُو قُحَافَةَ التَّيْمِيُّ فَإِنَّهُ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَامِرِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ تَيْمِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ أَسْلَمَ يَوْمَ فَتْحِ مَكَّةَ وَتُوُفِّيَ بِمَكَّةَ فِي الْمُحَرَّمِ سَنَةَ أَرْبَعَ عَشْرَةَ مِنَ الْهِجْرَةِ وَهُوَ ابْنُ سَبْعٍ وَتِسْعِينَ سَنَةً»

✧ As for Abu Quhafah al-Taymi, he is Uthman b. Amir b. Amr b. Kab b. Sad b. Taym b. Murrah. He embraced Islam on the day of the conquest of Makkah and died in Makkah in Muharram of the year fourteen of the Hijrah, being then ninety-seven years old.
