✧ Thabit ibn Qays came on the Day of al-Yamama, having applied hanut and put on his shrouds, while his companions had fled. He said, 'O Allah, I declare my innocence to You of what these people have brought, and I apologize to You for what these people have done. Evil is what you have accustomed your peers to! Leave us and our peers alone for a while.' Then he charged and fought for a while until he was killed. His coat of mail had been stolen, and a man saw him in a dream, and he said, 'My coat of mail is in a pot under a saddle at such-and-such a place,' and he made some bequests. So they searched for the coat of mail and found it where he had said, and they carried out his bequest.
