✧ O Messenger of Allah, I fear that I have perished. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'And why?' He said, 'Allah forbade us to love being praised for what we have not done, and I find that I love praise. He forbade us from arrogance, and I find that I love beauty. He forbade us from raising our voices above your voice, and I have a loud voice.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'O Thabit, are you not content to live praiseworthy, be killed as a martyr, and enter Paradise?' He said, 'Yes indeed, O Messenger of Allah.' He said, 'Then he lived praiseworthy and was killed as a martyr on the day of Musaylima the Liar.' Sahih according to the conditions of the two Shaykhs, but they did not include it with this wording. Muslim alone included the hadith of Hammad ibn Salama and Sulayman ibn al-Mughira from Thabit from Anas, who said: When it was revealed, 'Do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet' (Quran 49:2), Thabit ibn Qays came, and he mentioned the hadith in abbreviated form. According to the conditions of al-Bukhari and Muslim.
