حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ أَيُّوبَ الْفَقِيهُ ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الدُّورِيُّ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ مَعِينٍ وَحَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عِيسَى ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ نَجْدَةَ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ قَالُوا ثنا هُشَيْمٌ عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي حَرْبِ بْنِ أَبِي الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ فَضَالَةَ اللَّيْثِيِّ قَالَ
أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ إِنِّي أُرِيدُ الْإِسْلَامَ فَعَلِّمْنِي شَرَائِعَ مِنْ شَرَائِعِ الْإِسْلَامِ فَذَكَرَ الصَّلَاةَ وَشَهْرَ رَمَضَانَ وَمَوَاقِيتَ الصَّلَاةِ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّكَ تَذْكُرُ سَاعَاتٍ أَنَا فِيهِنَّ مَشْغُولٌ وَلَكِنْ عَلِّمْنِي جِمَاعًا مِنَ الْكَلَامِ قَالَ «إِنْ شُغِلْتَ فَلَا تُشْغَلْ عَنِ الْعَصْرَيْنِ» قُلْتُ وَمَا الْعَصْرَانِ؟ وَلَمْ تَكُنْ لُغَةَ قَوْمِي قَالَ «الْفَجْرُ وَالْعَصْرُ»

✧ I came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: "I wish to embrace Islam, so teach me some of the laws of Islam." He mentioned prayer, the month of Ramadan, and the times of prayer. I said: "O Messenger of God, you mention hours in which I am busy, but teach me a comprehensive word." He said: "If you are busy, do not be distracted from the two ʿaṣrs." I said: "What are the two ʿaṣrs?" It was not the language of my people. He said: "Fajr and ʿAṣr."

«هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ مُسْلِمٍ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ وَفِيهِ أَلْفَاظٌ لَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهَا بِإِسْنَادٍ آخَرَ وَأَكْثَرُهَا فَائِدَةً ذِكْرُ شَرَائِعِ الْإِسْلَامِ فَإِنَّهُ فِي حَدِيثِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ أَبِي دَاوُدَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ يَعْمَرَ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ وَلَيْسَ مِنْ شَرْطِ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمَا وَقَدْ خُولِفَ هُشَيْمُ بْنُ بَشِيرٍ فِي هَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ خِلَافًا لَا يَضُرُّ الْحَدِيثَ بَلْ يَزِيدُهُ تَأْكِيدًا» على شرط مسلم
