حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ صَالِحِ بْنِ هَانِئٍ ثنا السَّرِيُّ بْنُ خُزَيْمَةَ ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْحَرَّانِيُّ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو اللَّيْثِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ
أَنَّ امْرَأَةً يَهُودِيَّةً دَعَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَأَصْحَابًا لَهُ عَلَى شَاةٍ مَصْلِيَّةٍ فَلَمَّا قَعَدُوا يَأْكُلُونَ أَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لُقْمَةً فَوَضَعَهَا ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُمْ «أَمْسِكُوا إِنَّ هَذِهِ الشَّاةَ مَسْمُومَةٌ» فَقَالَ لِلْيَهُودِيَّةِ وَيْلَكِ لِأَيِّ شَيْءٍ سَمَّمْتِنِي؟ قَالَتْ أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَعْلَمَ إِنْ كُنْتَ نَبِيًّا فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَضُرُّكَ وَإِنْ كَانَ غَيْرَ ذَلِكَ أَنْ أُرِيحَ النَّاسَ مِنْكَ وَأَكَلَ مِنْهَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْبَرَاءِ فَمَاتَ فَقَتَلَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ مُسْلِمٍ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ» سكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص

✧ A Jewish woman invited the Prophet ﷺ and some of his companions to a roasted sheep. When they sat down to eat, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ took a morsel, put it down, then said to them, "Hold back! This sheep is poisoned." He said to the Jewish woman, "Woe to you! For what reason did you poison me?" She said, "I wanted to know if you were a prophet, for it would not harm you; and if you were otherwise, to relieve the people of you." Bishr b. al-Bara' ate from it and died, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ killed her. "Sahih according to Muslim's criterion, but they did not include it." Al-Dhahabi remained silent about it in the Talkhis.
