حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ قَالَ
«بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بَعْثًا إِلَى مُؤْتَةَ فَقَاتَلَ زَيْدُ بْنُ حَارِثَةَ بِرَايَةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي جُمَادَى الْأُولَى سَنَةَ ثَمَانٍ حَتَّى شَاطَ فِي رِمَاحِ الْقَوْمِ ثُمَّ أَخَذَهَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ» سكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص

✧ "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent an expedition to Mu'tah, and Zayd b. Harithah fought with the banner of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in Jumada al-Ula of the year eight, until he was pierced by the spears of the people. Then Ja'far b. Abi Talib took it." Al-Dhahabi remained silent about it in the Talkhis.
