al-Mustadrak (al-Hakim) 4935
✧ virtues of Ja'far b. Abi Talib b. Abd al-Muttalib b. Hashim, who was martyred in the Battle of Mu'tah in the eighth year of Hijrah.

حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ بَالَوَيْهِ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ غَالِبٍ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ الْمَدِينِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثنا الْعَلَاءُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «رَأَيْتُ جَعْفَرَ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ مَلَكًا يَطِيرُ مَعَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ بِجَنَاحَيْنِ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “I saw Ja'far b. Abi Talib as an angel flying with the angels with two wings.”

هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ المديني واه
machine translationThis is a hadith with a sound chain of transmission (ṣaḥīḥ al-isnād), but the two of them (al-Bukhārī and Muslim) did not include it in their collections. al-Madīnī is very weak (wāhin).
